To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization whose members are breast cancer survivors, friends and supporters. Formed in 1996 out of a desire to increase awareness of the huge epidemic that breast cancer had become, our organization has raised and distributed over $4 million to local San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit organizations that provide emergency financial aid and other critical services to assist underserved breast cancer patients throughout the Bay Area. To Celebrate Life's vision is that "no one should face breast cancer alone".
Zero Breast Cancer is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding the causes of breast cancer through community participation in the scientific research process. ZBC was started 20 years ago in response to the high incidence rates of invasive breast cancer in Marin County and the San Francisco Bay Area. We collaborate with local and national scientists on studies to identify environmental factors and the role they play in breast cancer at all stages of life and across generations. Our approach is to listen to the concerns of the community. Then partner with scientists and established institutions to conduct original research. Then communicate the findings back to the community to help prompt action to impact public policy and clinical care.
