North Bay's award-winning public arts education program, Marin School of the Arts, is located within Novato High School. Talented, motivated students from diverse backgrounds come from all over the Bay Area to be a part of this renowned program that includes academic courses on a par with leading private academies.
Along with a college preparatory education, these students receive intensive training in cinematic arts, creative writing, dance, fine arts, music, product design, and theatre from top arts educators, prestigious artists, and innovative business leaders. MSA students are given real-world experiences that foster the creativity, collaboration, and innovation vital to tomorrow's workforce.
MSA was founded in 2001, utilizing $270,000 in grant funds awarded by the California Department of Education thanks to the vision of teacher, musician, and artist Mark Peabody. He believed that a top arts program produces well-rounded leaders and should be open to all students with raw talent and a desire to create.
Today, MSA continues to grow and is now the largest school of the arts in Northern California. With more than a decade of accolades and achievements, its graduating class each year is offered millions of dollars in scholarships and awards to attend some of the most prestigious universities and conservatories. Many MSA students go on to successful careers in a variety of fields.
With your support, we can ensure that more and more Bay Area students have access to our unique arts education program within a public school.
